How Can You Use Facebook And Still Get A Good Nights Sleep
December 24th, 2009Before you stomp an electronic SOS in the virtual sandy beach try to enjoy the many features of Facebook on your own. Your friends are probably already experts. Plus, there is a help menu and lots of extra directions and information provided as you explore all facets of your page.
Your profile is you. You have complete control over just how detailed your personal information is when posted. You can even put a birth date but not a year. You get to decide which of your flattering photos you want on the main page or use an avatar.
You can browse Causes that you support and post them to your page. You can share Causes that you are passionate about with friends. You can raise funds for organizations and groups on your page. You can create your own local Cause and ask for support, create notes, a fan page, and more. Just practice.
Relatives and friends spread out across the country enjoy the photo albums. You get to name the album, decide which pictures to put in the album, and pick who gets to see the album. You will be able to create an album cover, tag people by name in each photo, and you can organize it. If you post it to your page it will show up in the “news feed” and “live feed” where it can be shared by others.
I like to post videos from others and from the Internet. I also like to make little movies on my computer and post those to my page. I did one on Christmas Eve last year with the kids and posted it before midnight so their Grandparents could see it. You can quickly share videos with a click of the button.
Interact with others with online programs that allow you create your own farm, grow crops, and harvest. Within these game programs you can dance, kiss, fight, and lots of other neat stuff that may keep you up later than a good movie.
The public comment area is instant. It can be funny, serious, or somewhere in between. For the private chit chat you go to message mode and send info back and forth confidentially. Think of this area as a private chamber where no conversations can be overheard. It’s the perfect spot for updates on ongoing projects or shared concerns. You will see a notice when you log in if you have messages waiting. Plus, you can have notifications sent to your email or phone.
Brace yourself for balloons with cheery messages, lots of colorful hearts with imaginative names, and so much more that will lighten your mood. When you send a smile to a friend you will probably get one back electronically and they will be wearing the other one. Just get your fingers on the keyboard and take a social site safari. In no time at all you will be having fun and interacting with friends in a ways you never suspected.
